The main image, which is in color, depicts two soldiers in the foreground, one raising the United States flag while the other stands at attention. The other images depict soldiers landing on a beach and aiming weapons at an unseen enemy; firing artillery from the ground; three soldiers running with the United States flag; firing artillery from a ship; a soldier waving a signal flag; a soldier riding in a rickshaw; and a soldier patrolling a building.
